The Hockenheim circuit is quite popular with racing fans, generally known as being easy to learn, but difficult to master. It’s a good track for racing as well with a long straight into a tight hairpin – there’s always opportunities to overtake there.

But it’s not featured in the last few F1 real life seasons, or official fames. So which official F1 games do have the Hockenheim track on them?

F1 2019 was the last official F1 game you could play that featured the Hockenheim circuit. Before that, Hockenheim alternated with the Nürburgring on the games, with Hockenheim taking the even years and Nürburgring taking the odd years.

Do Any F1 Games Feature The Old Hockenheim Layout?

Some newer gamers might not realize that the short, 2.8 mile Hockenheim layout has only been in use since 2002. Before that, there was a much longer layout that spanned 4.2 miles with a massive long straight much like the “strip” straight we’ve got at new Las Vegas track:

This old layout was done away with after the real life 2001 F1 season, so you have to play F1 2001 or F1 2000 game to race this circuit. It’s also available on Assetto Corsa as a mod (see here for a YouTuber trying it out in different generations of F1 cars).
