Play F1 23 Online For Free On PlayStation (February 2024 Update)

Note – You need to already have the F1 23 game to take part in these free online weekends; you don’t get the game for free (except for rare times like when they gave 48 hrs free access during the inaugural Las Vegas GP 2023). But PlayStation usually gives these free PSN weekends every 2-3 months, so keep an eye out for them.

The F1 games have for years had a massive community of online racers, both in casual lobbies and more formal leagues. And a great way to add new people to this community, even if for a short time, is the free PS Plus weekend Sony are now offering a couple of times a year to players.

This is where PS Plus, and therefore online multiplayer access, is given to all PlayStation users free of charge for a weekend. It’s just opened up for 2 days, so you can play in online lobbies even if you don’t have an active PS Plus subscriptions.

These are great offers to give people a chance to get into the online aspect of the F1 games, and in this post, we’re going to keep fans up to date by listing all the latest PSN Free Weekends as they come up, so you know right away when you can play F1 23 online for free.

PSN Free Weekend – 17-18th February 2024

PlayStation have just announced another free online play weekend running from 00:01 local time Saturday 17th February 2024 to 23:59 local time Sunday 18th February for each player. This means all PlayStation users can play online for free during this weekend.

This means that even if you don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription, you can just turn on your console and play F1 23 and your favorite games online for free during this weekend.

PlayStation are usually offering these free weekends every 2-3 months, so keep any eye out April/May time 2024 for the next one.

PSN Free Weekend – 9-10 December 2023

Following on from the last free weekend in September, PlayStation are offering all players free use of the online multiplayer PS Plus platform over the weekend of 9th-10th December 2023.

This means that even if you don’t have a PS Plus subscription, you’ll be able to play F1 23 multiplayer online. Just loads up the game between 00:01 Saturday 9th December and 23:59 Sunday 10th December (local time) to play online for free.

F1 23 Free Weekend – 16-20th November 2023 (Offline Only)

We have a new update to these free weekends, but this time it’s limited just to the F1 games offline modes, and doesn’t seem to be a PSN free weekend in general.

From 10:00 pm UTC on 15th November to 8:00 pm UTC on 20th November, gamers can play F1 23 offline for free on all major platforms (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X, PC).

In other words, it’s a very long free weekend, but it’s a great bonus for the fans to coincide with the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend. You can race this new track plus all other tracks on the F1 23 game for free, as well as watch the real race online.

Even if you haven’t already bought the F1 23 game for console/PC, you can download and try it out for free these 4 days. Just download and load up the game and you’re good to go trying out all the offline modes. If you do decide to go for it after trying it, there also a 60% discount on the game after this offer on the PlayStation Store.

Note – Online Multiplayer is NOT available for free in this particular weekend offer – you still need an Online Multiplayer pass to do this, even though you can try the offline modes on the game for free.

PSN Free Weekend – 16th – 17th September 2023

Sony already offered a free PS Plus weekend back in June 2023, and now they’re offering another one a few months later.

PlayStation gamers can play F1 23 online for free as part of a PSN free weekend from Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th September 2023.

This means that even if you don’t have an actual PS Plus membership, you can just load up the game, go to the online multiplayer, and you can jump straight into lobbies for those two days free of charge.

It also runs from 00:01 Saturday 16th to 23:59 Sunday 17th in each time zone, so as soon as you’re in this “weekend window” in whatever country you’re in, your free PSN weekend starts.

It’s a great way to test out the online multiplayer, though be wary that random lobbies tend to be carnage from start to finish, with crashes and safety cars galore. Happy racing!
